Junior Scholarship Opportunities

Horatio Alger Scholarship

National Scholarship

Award Amount: 105 scholarships at $25,000 each

  • Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in the United States
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States immediately after high school graduation (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
  • Demonstrate financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
  • Be a United States citizen

State Scholarship – Missouri

Award Amount: 9 scholarships at $10,000 each

  • Be enrolled full time as a high school junior in Missouri
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States immediately after high school graduation (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
  • Demonstrate financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
  • Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  • Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
  • Be a United States citizen

The Coolidge Scholarship

The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study.

This one-of-a-kind scholarship may be used at any accredited college or university in the U.S.


Questbridge Scholarship

The Match Scholarship is a full four-year scholarship to one of QuestBridge's college partners, worth over $325,000. To receive a Match Scholarship that covers tuition, housing and food, and other expenses, you must rank colleges. By ranking colleges, you could be “matched”—  admitted early with a guaranteed full four-year Match Scholarship — to the college that appears highest on your list that is also able to match with you.

LEDA Scholars

LEDA brings together a community of student leaders for a completely free five-week residential program at Princeton and Yale Universities that includes academic preparation for college, leadership training, college guidance support based on individual fit, SAT/ACT preparation, and a chance to experience life on a college campus.

LEDA is for life. After the Summer Institute, the LEDA team continues to work with Scholars intensively on all aspects of their college applications and their transition to and through college. The LEDA Community is a network that will continue to provide support and opportunities beyond college graduation.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a Junior attending a public high school in the U.S., graduating in 2026
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or have DACA Status
  • Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Have a total annual household income of $90,000 or below (assets will also be considered)
