Wildcat Basketball 

It’s been over 30 years since the LR Wildcats have been to the State Basketball Tournament.  LR has a strong tradition of successful basketball teams, but the road to the state tournament in class four is challenging.  It takes talent, endurance, momentum, being free from injuries, and a little bit of luck.  The Wildcats have a record of 24-5 and a lot of momentum heading into the state semifinals [ Click Here for Full Season Schedule ]   They have not lost a game since January 26 and are getting positive contributions from all the players hitting the floor.

They will take on the defending 2018 class four state champions, Grandview, at 1:45 PM on March 15^th in JQH Arena on the campus of Missouri State University.  Grandview ended the Wildcats season last year at the state quarterfinal game at SBU.   

Season Highlights:  Blue Division Champions as the 6^th seed in the Blue & Gold Tournament, Luke Vandersnick hit 1000 points on December 27th, Big 8 Champions, Coach Schaefer passing the 400 win milestone.

Lady Wildcat Basketball

As of March 11, 2019, the Lady Wildcats have a record of 23 wins and 7 losses.  They have battled their way to the State Basketball Tournament, March 15-16.  This will be the first trip to the final four for the girls' program.  The Lady Wildcats have faced tough competition all season and this has paid off.  Looking at their rigorous schedule, two losses were to the four-time class 3 state champions, Stafford, and a mid-season, 0ne-point loss to Thayer, who went on to be crowned the 2019 class 2 state champs last weekend.  [ Click Here for Full Season Schedule ]

Season Highlights:  Fair Grove Tournament Champion, Jordyn Gault hits the 1000 point mark, Big 8 Champions,  Coach McHenry earns his 400^th win on December 28, 2018. 

The Lady Wildcats will face Lincoln College Prep (21-4) in the state semifinals on Friday, March 15^th at 5:15 PM at JQH Arena.   This team has a will to win and when you believe, anything is possible.

Both teams will be in the HS Commons on Thursday, March 14^th at 6:45 PM, for the community to wish the teams Good Luck.  Also, T-Shirts will go on sale at that time as well. The price is $10 for short sleeves and $15 for long sleeves – while supplies last.
