“If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living” Gail Sheehy
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has an annual convention each summer to allow principals from across the country to come together to learn and grow in their profession. The 2019 conference was held in Boston, Massachusetts beginning on July 18th through July 20th. Over 3000 educational leaders were registered for this event. From the keynote “Opening Thought Leader” sessions to the smaller breakout sessions, there were nationally recognized presenters to challenge principals to continue to grow and nurture the best in others. Dr. McKenzie said it was difficult to decide which session to attend with so many quality choices during each time slot. Below are the sessions that McKenzie was able to attend. She reported that each session was outstanding. McKenzie said, “I am very fortunate to work in a district that supports the continuous development of educational leaders. It was an amazing experience. I am fired up for another school year.”
