We have reached the final month of the 2023-2024 School Year. Students need to finish strong. Our seniors will be wrapping up next week with graduation on Sunday, May 12th. Our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will have projects, tests, and state assessments to complete once the seniors are gone. Since more time is needed for these final exams, we are shifting to a block schedule beginning Monday, May 6th.
For us to have the best finish to the school year, we need to stay focused on the expectations for student success:
Daily attendance and getting to classes on time have been struggles for some students this spring. Going into the final stretch, it is critical for students to show up every day and be on time to every class. We know students are capable of rising to the occasion and will make the necessary adjustments. For those who need extra encouragement, we will be using a team of hallway monitors to address students who are not able to make it to class on time. Students will be issued a detention and loss of phone privileges during lunch. Parents: please encourage your students to adjust their morning routines so they arrive at school early and are ready to move quickly from class to class.
Bump Up Day is May 21st
On Bump Up Day, every high school student and the incoming 9th graders will receive a printout of their schedule for 2024-2025. Students will move through their new schedule, meet teachers, and learn about the courses. There will also be a summer school meeting that will include important information about the format and expectations for the HS summer program. Bump Up Day is always a fun way to end the school year. Students don’t want to miss out.
