Construction leads to an immediate need to change the traffic pattern at LRHS

The construction of the multipurpose building is accelerating.  The walls will be going up soon.  With this progress, we will need to adjust the traffic pattern at the high school.  Please read the section below that will impact your student. 

The pattern change will go into effect on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2024.

Bus Riders

Buses will unload and load on the east side of the high school.  Buses will enter from Highway 125 and take the south loop around the building.  In the morning, students will be dropped off at the student entrance.  After school, all buses will be parked in the drive lane between the Ag Building and Main Building.  Students may exit the building through the student entrance or the FEMA entrance to walk to their bus.  The buses will drive through the student parking lot and proceed to the middle school.

Drop Off and Pick Up

The morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up area has been moved to the front of the building. In the mornings, parents need to enter from Highway 125 and drop off at the front door, and circle through the front parking lot to exit back onto Highway 125.

In the afternoon, parents need to park in the parking spaces available in the front parking lot.  After the 40 spots are filled, then cars may line up on the drive lane in front of the building.  All cars will need to circle through the front parking lot and return to Highway 125.

Student Drivers

For the students who drive to school, they will not need to change their pattern, however, they will need to be patient.  They will not be able to leave the parking lot until all the buses have left the parking lot.  We have asked coaches to delay practice start times due to this 5-minute adjustment.  The south loop will be open for students to exit onto Highway 125.  The other exit by the softball field will be available after all buses have pulled out.
