Gabe Wilson, Charlie Phillips and Scott Bruenger Scholarship

Purpose and Amount:   To provide an annual $1,000.00 grant to a graduating senior of Logan Rogersville High School; based on amount available to spend (ATS). Funds are to be used for education at an accredited university, college, or junior college, trade school or vocational/technical school.  In the event the fund can provide two scholarships or one full scholarship and one partial scholarship, the Selection Committee is authorized to select two recipients for that year.

Criteria for Eligibility:

  • Graduating Rogersville High School Senior who participated in some type of sports activity during their high school career
  • Must rank in upper 1/2 of class; GPA of 2.0 or above; submit transcript
  • Students must be applying to a two or four year accredited college, university or technical training school
  • Demonstrate financial need; submit FAFSA - EFC
  • Describe your participation in community service, school activities, work experience and sports
  • One page essay addressing "Your course of study, major field of interest and proposed occupation or profession you plan to follow"
     

Logan-Rogersville PTA High School Senior Scholarship

  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities
  • Explain why you deserve this scholarship
     

Tony Budler Memorial Scholarship

Tony Budler was a staple at LR for nearly 20 years as an active member of the community and supporter of multitude of extracurricular events. This included supporting his four children grow up and compete in various sports and school activities. Additionally, a steadfast work ethic and dedication to helping others was a hallmark of Tony’s persona. Sadly, Tony passed away after a long battle with cancer in June 2018. To carry on Tony’s legacy, his four children and Mrs. Budler will be the committee awarding an LR Senior a $500 scholarship annually.

Qualifications:

  • Logan-Rogersville High School Student pursuing a College Degree in a STEM discipline
  • National Honor Society Member
  • Member of at least one sports team during your High School career
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • ​Active in community service or workforce

With Tony’s values in mind, please write an essay answering the following question.

How do you plan on making a postive impact on your community, and the world, as your pursue your dreams and career by attending college and beyond?
 


Rogersville Saddle Club Scholarship

  • GPA of 2.5 or above
  • Character, citizenship, and attendance
  • Particular consideration to those considering majoring in equestrian science, animal science, or veterinary medicine
     

Hedgpeth Techology Scholarship

  • Seeking graduating seniors with a record of volunteerism in the commnity in non-school sponsored and participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, total family annual income under 75,000, and plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college or technical school.
  • Applicants plan to pursue a technology-based degree.
     

Rogersville Area Chamber of Commerce Sholarship

  • Attending a state accredited college or university
  • Demonstrates an involvement in school and community services
  • Demonstrates proven academic achievement in the form of GPA & Class Rank
  • Plan to positively impact the Rogersville area
     

Christina A. Harter – Run, Lead, Achieve Scholarship

  • $900.00
  • Graduating Rogersville High School Senior, with a preference for students who have participated in Track, Cross Country or Band
  • GPA of 3.0 or above; submit transcript
  • ACT Score of 21 or above
  • Students must be applying to a two or four year accredited college, university or technical training school
  • Demonstrate financial need; submit FAFSA - EFC
  • Describe your participation in community service, school activities and work experience
  • One page essay addressing "How has running or another area of interest helped you to be a better competitor in all aspects of your life"
  • One letter of recommendation
     

Christina Harter and Garret Krasser FFA Memorial Scholarship

  • Student must be a graduating senior from Logan-Rogersville High School
  • Planning to enroll in an accredited university or college for the following year
  • Student must have been involved in the Logan-Rogersville FFA Chapter for at least one school year.
     

Logan-Rogersville Alumni Association Scholarship

  • Please write why you feel deserving of this scholarship and any other information about yourself which might aid the committee in making its selection; for example: financial need, area of study, career goal or other scholarships that you are receiving. 
     

Matt Blount Memorial Scholarship

  • Must describe your academic achievements. Include favorite classes and how they impact your career choice.
  • Describe extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or involvement in the community and explain your contribution and honors received in each activity.
  • Describe what “Wildcat Pride” means to you.
  • List any scholarships, financial awards, and/or financial aid you have applied for or received. Describe your anticipated expenses and financial needs.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Pursuing a career path utilizing either math or science.
     

Logan-Rogersville Booster Club Scholarship

  • Must have been/ are currently a member of a varsity sport at Logan-Rogersville High School
  • List achievements and honors received during high school
     

Logan-Rogersville FFA Booster Club Scholarship

  • Must be involved in LRHS FFA chapter for at least one school year
  • Complete all application information
  • Submit completed form and FFA Leadership and Participation pages to the counselors’ office.
     

Citizen’s Bank of Rogersville Finance Scholarship

  • List school/community activities
  • Explain why CBR should choose you for this scholarship
  • Must plan on pursuing a major related to banking or finance
     

William Breedlove Family Scholarship

  • List school activities
  • List community service hours
  • Write non-school related volunteer activities
  • List achievements, recognitions, or honors from all four years
  • Have two sponsors/leaders/teachers that can verify all information
  • List places of employment
  • Write a 200 word (max) of what service project or accomplishment has been most meaningful to you and why.
     

The R.D. “Rusty” and Win White Engineering or Special Education Memorial Scholarship

  • Must be a senior at LRHS
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for after high school
  • Must have sincere intent to study engineering or Special Education
     

MFA Foundation Scholarship

  • Applicant must be interested in furthering their education by engaging in studies relating to agriculture or other fields of study that benefit rural life.
  • Applicant participates and shows leadership in school, church, and community activities.
  • Must have a good reputation for good citizenship and good moral character.
  • Must have a financial need for the scholarship, sources of income, and a willingness to work.
  • A satisfactory academic progress.
